Who is The Doctor’s father?

2013 is the 50th anniversary of the long-running BBC television show Doctor Who. To celebrate I produced a short piece for ABC Radio National program The Science Show, featuring Professor Andrew Brennan, a philosopher from La Trobe University.

In the piece he tackles the question: where does The Doctor come from? Who is The Doctor’s father? Who is The Doctor’s mother? It’s based on a paper published in 1982 by philosopher Murray MacBeth.

You can listen to the interview now on The Science Show website.
